Jennifer has been advocating for family law clients since 2007, after having received her Honours B.A. in Political Science from the University of Waterloo and Law Degree from Dalhousie University. She is an effective negotiator and advocate, having appeared before several levels of Court in Ontario and Nova Scotia.

 

As an Accredited Family Mediator with the Ontario Association for Family Mediators (OAFM) as well as a Collaborative Practice lawyer, Jennifer’s primary goal is to ensure her clients feel heard and understood throughout the process. She supports her clients in proceeding with negotiations and settlement in a way that reflects their priorities and goals.

 

Jennifer sits on the Board of Directors of the York Region Law Association and is the immediate past-Chair of York Collaborative Practice, a regional association for collaborative professionals. She is a presenter of the Mandatory Information Program for family law litigants at the Newmarket Courthouse and is a Roster Mediator with the Blue Hills Child and Family Centre Family Mediation Service.

 

While at law school, Jennifer was a member of the Gale Cup Competition Team and received a student clerkship with the Hon. Justice LeBlanc of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia. She previously served as a member of the Richmond Hill Youth Advisory Committee and the Working Group for the Improvement of Court Processes at the Newmarket Courthouse.

 

Jennifer’s practice focuses on all areas of family law, including separation, custody/access, matrimonial property, divorce, child protection, child/spousal support, and grandparents’ rights.

 

Outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys playing piano and spending time with family and friends.
